Code of Conduct
Effective date: April 30, 2026
LoadConnect.ca is built on trust between shippers, carriers, and our team. Every user — whether you post one load a year or run a fleet — agrees to follow this Code. Violations may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform.
For everyone
- Be honest. Provide accurate information about yourself, your business, and the loads or services you offer.
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, slurs, or discriminatory language toward other users or our team.
- Honour your commitments. If you accept a bid or commit to a pickup window, do everything reasonable to follow through.
- Communicate. Reply to messages within a reasonable time. If something changes, let the other party know early.
- Pay and get paid through the Platform. Do not arrange off-platform payments to bypass the service fee — see our Terms of Use.
For Shippers
- Describe your cargo accurately — weight, dimensions, value, and any special handling. Inaccurate descriptions are the #1 cause of disputes.
- Disclose dangerous goods (TDG-regulated cargo) clearly and only book Carriers qualified to transport them.
- Be ready at the agreed pickup window. Demurrage caused by Shipper delay may be billed by the Carrier.
- Confirm delivery promptly. If something is wrong, raise a dispute within 24 hours of delivery — do not silently withhold payment.
For Carriers
- Maintain a valid NSC number and the provincial operating authority for each province you run in (Alberta TSB, CVOR in Ontario, etc.), commercial cargo and liability insurance, and current WCB coverage from your home province (WCB-Alberta, WorkSafeBC, WSIB, CNESST, or the equivalent). Upload current certificates and update them before they expire.
- Only bid on loads you can legally and safely move with your equipment.
- Provide proof of pickup and delivery (POD) photos when requested.
- Respect cargo. Damage caused by negligence is your responsibility and your insurer's.
- Do not subcontract a booked load to another carrier without the Shipper's written consent.
Reporting violations
If another user has acted in bad faith — fraud, harassment, no-show, damaged cargo without follow-up — report it to trust@loadconnect.ca. We investigate every report and protect the identity of the reporter where possible.
Enforcement
Depending on the severity of a violation, we may issue a warning, hold or refund a payment, suspend bidding privileges, or permanently remove an account. Repeated or serious violations (fraud, theft, falsified credentials) result in immediate permanent removal and may be reported to law enforcement.
